Humboldt Bay Draft Environmental Assessment

Commercial Wind Lease and Grant Issuance and Site Assessment Activities on the Pacific Outer Continental Shelf (OCS), Humboldt Wind Energy Area (WEA), California has been proposed. The Proposed Action for this EA is the issuance of commercial wind energy leases and associated easements within the WEA that the Bureau of Ocean Energy  Management (BOEM) designated on the OCS in the vicinity of Humboldt County, California. This EA analyzes BOEM’s issuance of up to 3 leases within the Humboldt WEA, as well as the issuance of easements and grants associated with each lease for subsea cable corridors and areas for associated offshore collectors/converter platforms.
